Website Terms of Use
The terms that apply when you use the Spanwise website.
Last updated: 1 September 2026.
These terms govern your use of the Spanwise website at spanwise.co.uk. By using the site you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.
Using the Spanwise application is governed by a different document, the end user licence, which you accept when you sign in. A paid subscription is governed by a written agreement between Spanwise and the subscribing organisation. Nothing on this page changes either of those.
Who we are
The site is operated by Spanwise Technologies Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17404129, whose registered office is Suite RA01, 195 to 197 Wood Street, London, E17 3NU. Contact: hello@spanwise.co.uk.
The site is information only
The site describes what Spanwise does. Nothing on it is:
- an offer capable of acceptance, or a contract;
- structural engineering, building control, legal or other professional advice;
- a representation that the Spanwise service will produce any particular result.
Any screening output shown on the site is an illustration of the format, not a promise of what the service will find in your documents. What the service does and does not do is set out on the acceptable use policy and, for subscribers, in the subscription agreement.
No warranty on the site itself
We try to keep the site accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it is free from error, complete, current, or available without interruption. We may change, suspend or withdraw any part of it without notice.
Intellectual property
The text, layout, graphics, logos and the name Spanwise are owned by Spanwise Technologies Ltd or used under licence. You may view the site and print or download extracts for your own reference. You may not otherwise copy, republish, scrape, or reuse any part of it, or use the Spanwise name or logo, without our written permission. Normal fair dealing rights under copyright law are unaffected.
Acceptable use of the site
Do not:
- use the site in any way that is unlawful or that could damage it or interfere with anyone else's use of it;
- attempt to gain unauthorised access to the site, its server, or any connected system;
- introduce malware or attempt any denial-of-service attack;
- access the site by automated means, other than a search engine indexing it in the ordinary way;
- present anything from the site as an approval, a determination, or a design check. Spanwise produces none of those.
Links to other sites
Where the site links to a third-party site, that is for convenience. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.
Liability
We do not exclude or limit our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be excluded.
Subject to that, and to the fullest extent the law allows, we are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your use of, or inability to use, this site, or from reliance on anything shown on it. If you are a business, we are not liable for loss of profit, loss of business, or any indirect or consequential loss.
This clause does not affect any rights or remedies a subscriber has under its subscription agreement, or a signed-in user has under the end user licence.
Privacy
Our privacy notice explains how we handle personal data, and our cookie policy explains the two cookies the service uses.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. The version on this page is the one that applies. The date at the top tells you when it last changed.
Governing law
These terms, and any dispute about them or about the site, are governed by the law of England and Wales, and the courts of England and Wales have exclusive jurisdiction.
